I'm writing in response to the article I found while I was flicking through your magazine. Just by reading the title given to the article issued (Road rage) I was given food for though. It was really interesting to be told about statistics information which gave us some idea of the main causes for young’s speedy way of driving. The comment the author did after the information described the consequences, such as traffic accidents, in a very realistic way. So the main purpose of the article was making people ware of traffic accidents problem. I think it should have been interesting you tried to sort the problem out by giving some advice or making some kind of public claim to the politics in order they changed the laws. These are the reasons why I’ve decided to write this letter nevertheless; I’d like to introduce the topic by giving more information.

It’s widely known that the main causes of death in developed (excuse me from using this word) countries are the three “C”: cancer, cardio-vascular illnesses and cars. Last problem is the one I’m going to talk about and try to give some solutions. As in your magazine’s article was reflected over the 35% of traffic accidents get involved young drivers. This fact makes me think about if the problem causes are a bad driving tuition or a non conscious way of driving. If these were the causes I would try to sort them out by giving some kind of special classes during the driving tuition period in which teach and make new drivers conscious of the danger of road and human’s life value.

Another question to take into account is why do young drivers drive in a fast way?. In my opinion the think life is short so they want to take profit from each second they live, they feel plucked enough to drive at a high speed ( for instance more than 190 km/h) but they don’t feel like stop and think over their actions’ consequences. All this is hardly ever mixed up with alcohol and drugs making driving a dangerous activity even for passers- by. So don’t we should give advice about how to avoid this situation is good for all people affected?

I know the advice is given but, as far as I’m concerned politics should try to give population a more critic way of thinking, because just by being critic with oneself is possible to be conscious of ones’ actions. In order to get this way of thinking a new school subject should be set u: Driving and life. Therefore the new generation would grow up with another view of driving and number of accidents would consequently decrease. To sum up I would like tell government’s spin doctor not to procrastinate this kind of education to let the three “c” in two. The higher speed your drive the bigger the crash.I look forward to see this letter appear in you reader’s pots special section.Yours faithfully.

Fallas

Many of you know what las fallas are , one of the most popular of the valencians festivities, so in this blog, I’ll give my opinion about these bonfire's days.
First of all little bit of history. The tradition we call Las fallas began in the 18th century, when craftsmen burned their waste material to celebrate the end of the winter. This waste- burning evolved into the modern cardboard statutes that fill the streets of Valencia each 14th of March till they turn into embers on 19th of the same month, Saint Joseph’s day.

Secondly my opinion about the festivity .It's widely believed around Spain, that valencians are baroque, I mean they love boasting they whereabouts. This side of their personality is well seen on the fallas, the ninots (the cardboard-made figures which compose the monuments), are expressive and even sometimes nice outside, but empty and grey inside. These contrasts are shown wherever you peer around Valencia. For instance, most of the buildings you'll find show on complicated and awe-inspiring figures outside, they belong to the baroque artistic style. So even on Valencia’s architecture you’ll find the common sprit of making ourselves out heroes.

On the other hand, las Fallas also show how hard worker they are. Not only had they burned the Fallas that the city is cleaned. After fallas you wouldn’t believe that that noisy revelers and bangles had been passing through that streets.

To sum up, i 'd recomend you to visit valencias great party, you'll enjoy the most.

Progress

I don’t believe in progress, in fact I think that is non-existent. The reasons which have lead me to think so will be developed through the following lines.

First of all, nature and human beings. When human were on their childhood, their boasting aptitudes and their intelligence, produced on them the desire to control their environment. Then they begun their technological adventure, just by creating the first stone –made tools, or learning how to use fire. Since those first creations we’ve been improving our devices till get computers and mobile phones, but . Are we really progressing?

Answering to the question which was set up a the end of last paragraph, when we talk about progress we usually refer to our devices development along the time, and usually mixing it up with social changes.I think that moral progress might exist, but not technical or scientific one. The main reason of this thought is that the main goal of progress is impossible to achieve: Inmortality. Being immortal would be as boring as being a stone. Simply we can't imagine an immortal creature, because for us life is closely related to death, each action of living beings is related to the avoidance of our sad end. Having this thing on our mind we go on studying what we call progress.
Another question to be studied is creation. Progress, means new ideas or new world-conceptions, from which different life-styles are born. In my opinion the creation of ideas is simply impossible. Our knowledge is given by our experiences with nature; we can’t imagine anything non-existant because all our mental skills just mix nature elements or thoughts up to bring composites which seem new.But average people progress conception is based on the comparison between two periods of time, in which their is better. Yes, it’s true that we live more than caveman did, but nowadays we aren’t content with our lot, we think that our life-time isn’t enough. We just work more for live more, so we’ve got the same free time as caveman had. In order to make it easier, I‘ll ask you to think over a simple fraction: 1/1. If you double both number you get: 2/2; but in spite of having doubled the number we had, the result is still one. Progress is like consumerism, indeed we pull every thing off to achieve something, but when we’ve got it, we look for more without having enjoyed it.
To sum up, our life-style couldn’t have been achieved without the events happened before; so, Is our technology more important than the old one?Last argument against progress are devices drawbacks. Not only have we created a machine, but we have to solve the problem it creates. Technology is like a double – edged sword, each new hi-tech, has got its hitches as well as its bad effect on nature or humans, in order to sort this problem out we create more and more devices. Instances of this are natural disasters, caused by oil combustion. You will agree with me that oil fuels are one of the greater discoveries ever done, but look around you, your city seems mucky and grubby. We always procrastinate this problems , and our planet is really had enough . So, It’s really useful to create new devices if we’ve got to think about new ones to repair the first ones harm? In order to conclude, just think it over before saying that we progress, peer humanity’s history. I wish we had taken conscience of our acts, and at least we wouldn’t have cause so harm to our home.
