I'm writing in response to the article I found while I was flicking through your magazine. Just by reading the title given to the article issued (Road rage) I was given food for though. It was really interesting to be told about statistics information which gave us some idea of the main causes for young’s speedy way of driving. The comment the author did after the information described the consequences, such as traffic accidents, in a very realistic way. So the main purpose of the article was making people ware of traffic accidents problem. I think it should have been interesting you tried to sort the problem out by giving some advice or making some kind of public claim to the politics in order they changed the laws. These are the reasons why I’ve decided to write this letter nevertheless; I’d like to introduce the topic by giving more information.
It’s widely known that the main causes of death in developed (excuse me from using this word) countries are the three “C”: cancer, cardio-vascular illnesses and cars. Last problem is the one I’m going to talk about and try to give some solutions. As in your magazine’s article was reflected over the 35% of traffic accidents get involved young drivers. This fact makes me think about if the problem causes are a bad driving tuition or a non conscious way of driving. If these were the causes I would try to sort them out by giving some kind of special classes during the driving tuition period in which teach and make new drivers conscious of the danger of road and human’s life value.
Another question to take into account is why do young drivers drive in a fast way?. In my opinion the think life is short so they want to take profit from each second they live, they feel plucked enough to drive at a high speed ( for instance more than 190 km/h) but they don’t feel like stop and think over their actions’ consequences. All this is hardly ever mixed up with alcohol and drugs making driving a dangerous activity even for passers- by. So don’t we should give advice about how to avoid this situation is good for all people affected?
I know the advice is given but, as far as I’m concerned politics should try to give population a more critic way of thinking, because just by being critic with oneself is possible to be conscious of ones’ actions. In order to get this way of thinking a new school subject should be set u: Driving and life. Therefore the new generation would grow up with another view of driving and number of accidents would consequently decrease. To sum up I would like tell government’s spin doctor not to procrastinate this kind of education to let the three “c” in two. The higher speed your drive the bigger the crash.I look forward to see this letter appear in you reader’s pots special section.Yours faithfully.
Iron Maiden Jeane.
